These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WoodTools mobile application and related services ("WoodTools", "the App", "we", "us", or "our").
Please replace the bracketed placeholders before publishing these Terms:
- Legal owner: WoodTools
- Contact email: [email protected]
- Governing law/jurisdiction: Netherlands
By using WoodTools, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
## 1. What WoodTools Does
WoodTools provides woodworking utilities, including calculators, cut list optimization, CNC panel nesting, sketches, previews, project files, and exports such as PDF, DXF, PNG, and `.cutproject` files.
WoodTools is a planning and productivity tool. It does not replace professional judgment, workshop safety practices, machine setup knowledge, engineering review, or material verification.
## 2. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Checking all measurements, units, quantities, kerf values, tool diameters, spacing, rotations, and layouts before cutting or machining
- Confirming that exported PDF, DXF, PNG, and project files are correct before using them
- Confirming that CNC files are compatible with your machine, CAM software, tooling, materials, and safety requirements
- Using appropriate personal protective equipment and safe workshop practices
- Keeping backups of important projects, sketches, exports, and files
- Complying with laws, workplace rules, and safety regulations that apply to your work
You agree not to rely on WoodTools as the sole source of truth for safety-critical, structural, commercial, or high-value production decisions.
## 3. Accounts
Some features may allow you to create an account using email and password authentication. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
You may log out or delete your account through the App where those options are available. We may suspend or terminate account access if we reasonably believe there has been misuse, fraud, abuse, security risk, or violation of these Terms.
## 4. Your Content
"Your Content" includes projects, cut lists, panels, parts, sketches, DXF files, exported files, profile images, and other material you create, import, save, or export using WoodTools.
You keep ownership of Your Content. You give us permission to process Your Content only as needed to provide the App's features, such as saving it locally, generating previews, optimizing layouts, importing files, exporting files, or supporting account-related functionality.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to import, use, modify, export, and share any files or designs you use with WoodTools.
## 5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, modify, or distribute the App except where allowed by law
- Interfere with the App's operation or connected services
- Upload, import, or share files that infringe another person's rights
- Use the App to create or process unsafe machining instructions without proper review
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
## 6. Exports and Third-Party Services
WoodTools may use iOS sharing, document picker, Files, AirDrop, Mail, Messages, cloud storage apps, or other third-party destinations selected by you. Once you export, share, or save a file outside WoodTools, that file is controlled by you and by the destination service.
Third-party services, including Apple services and Firebase services provided by Google, may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
## 7. App Store Terms
If you downloaded WoodTools from the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for WoodTools, except as required by applicable law.
## 8. Updates and Changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
Your continued use of WoodTools after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
## 9. No Warranty
WoodTools is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not guarantee that:
- Optimized layouts will be the most efficient possible
- Calculations, previews, exports, or imported files will be error-free
- DXF files will work with every CAD, CAM, CNC, laser, router, saw, or manufacturing workflow
- The App will always be available, compatible, or free from defects
Always review and verify outputs before using them in the workshop.
## 10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, materials, projects, data, business, goodwill, or production time arising from or related to your use of WoodTools.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to WoodTools will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or services giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50 if no paid amount applies.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as liability for intentional misconduct or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
## 11. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless [Your legal name or company name] from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of WoodTools, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or Your Content.
## 12. Termination
You may stop using WoodTools at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the App or account features if you violate these Terms or if continued access creates legal, security, or operational risk.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and governing law.
## 13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your country/state], without regard to conflict of law principles, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
